Pucci Stewardesses and the Stewardess Craze

In a time thankfully past, we had stewardesses, not flight attendants. And they were seen as sexual ornaments for a form of travel that was still novel for most.

There's something of a minicraze going on right now among vintage. Stewardess garb is hot (at least for the time being). Take a look at these vintage photos of stewardesses in uniform, including those designed by Pucci for Braniff Airlines. (I was pretty appalled at the degrading poses and uniforms, even though i've seen uniforms of this era before)...
Vintage stewardess uniforms.
Here's a pictoral survey of this (happily gone) era: Come Fly with Us!: A Global History of the Airline Hostess.
Don't confuse the above title with the following one, which is considered thin and inferior: Stewardess: Come Fly with Me!.
