1940 circa Latte Wool Coat with Cocoa Velvet Trim
Label: Benson's of West Chester, Pennsylvania
Origin: American
Materials: velvet, wool
Description: This beautiful wool coat has definite Russian style. Its latte-colored body has princess seaming, a petite shawl collar of cocoa velvet, and cocoa velvet frogs at the front and one at the small of the back at the slightly nipped-in waist.
The coat is generously sized, and the out-flowing skirt accomodates a variety of hip sizes. The princess seaming is very slimming to the figure.
And, of course, this coat is extremely warm, aside from its standout quality of timeless style.
Label reads "Benson's of West Chester, Pennsylvania."
Condition: Excellent
This coat is in fabulous, wearable condition. The lining is unstained, untorn, and pretty much looks as if new. No moth bites, holes, or worn areas. The only slight detraction is that someone secured the topmost frog on the front with brown thread that isn't a match for the brown of the coat, and though the topmost frog is present, the brown velvet fastener to which it secures is gone. The overall presentation is such that this does not detract.
