Description: Wonderful, simple but chic day gown of the softest, freshest peach silk. It is in the (new for 1912ish), straighter jumper-style and mixes a leaner, sportier, more modern look with the more traditional uses of lace. A jaunty tasseled sash hangs at the hip, a fetching touch.

The lace is embroidered in foliate patterns and delicately studded with the tiniest of rhinestones. The lace net at the bodice is lavishly embroidered with bronze silk thread.

This is a very nicely made gown, either from a good dressmaker or a skilled home seamstress. It only lacks a set of hooks and eyes along the left side of the bodice for closure.

Rare or unusual for pieces of this time, the custom-made sash still accompanies this gown (often, if they are separate pieces, they get lost through time). But this one has amazingly survived to accompany this very appealing ensemble.

The peach damask silk (a high-quality silk) flows beautifully, helping to give the gown an elegant, sophisticated air while maintaining a youthful freshness. Incredibly wearable!

Condition: Excellent

There is a petersham-sized waistband sewn into the skirt portion which has shattered along one-third of its length and is fraying along other areas. It is still functional, but could use replacing eventually. There is a small, pencil eraser tip-sized hole in the silk near the left armhole on the front side of the gown. There are some faint, scattered smudges near the left-front hem, not readily noticeable when worn or on display.
