Peter Pan to Get Sequels

Published in 1911, J. M. Barrie's children's classic has not had a sequel. Until now. Great Ormond Street Hospital has owned the rights to the book since 1929, but those rights run out in 2007, and competing books are in the works as sequels. The official sequel, Peter Pan in Scarlet, has been completed by children's author Geraldine Caughrean. Caughrean was selected among 200 authors to write it. The author has stated that she doesn't "believe" in "political correctness," but that she tried to be sensitive to critics who found the original to include sexist and racist elements.
