Joan Allen Takes on Georgia O’Keefe
Academy Award-nominated actor Joan Allen will take on Lifetime Television's biography of revolutionary artist Georgia O'Keeffe. Actor Jeremy Irons (HBO's Elizabeth) will star as her husband and artistic counter-point, photographer Alfred Stieglitz.
Additional cast members include Ed Begley Jr. (Steiglitz's brother, Lee), Tyne Daly (as artist Mabel Dodge Stern), Linda Emond (as O'Keeffe friend Beck) and Henry Simmons (as writer/lover Jean Toomer).
Bob Balaban (Gosford Park) will direct, Michael Cristofer (Casanova, The Witches of Eastwick), is pegged as the writer, and Joan Allen is also listed as a producer, The movie is scheduled to premiere in third-quarter 2009.
