200 Cher Wardrobe Items to Go to Auction
700 items from Cher's household, including approximately 200 wardrobe items, will be auctioned in October by Sotheby's and Julien's Auctions. Included in the sale are numerous costumes from her show, The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and the original Bob Mackie gown she wore to the Academy Awards. Among non-clothing items, bidders have a wide variety from which to choose. A circa 1865 Gothic revival brass bed, jewelry (some of which was made by cher herself), furniture and an H2 Hummer. Proceeds will benefit the Cher Charitable Foundation.
Select items from the sale will be included in a traveling exhibit that will make stops at Sotheby locations in London, New York and Chicago. All the lots will be available for viewing on September 29 at their final stop, the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. A preview exhibition is currently on view at the hotel.
